Low Tide on Google Wave

Google Wave, the “product” from Google that was intended to encourage a new way of sharing information between friends/coworkers has announced their end-of-life. Frankly, I’m not the least bit shocked. For as amazing as Google is as a company, they occassionally put products out there that are clearly half-baked and well funded intern projects. Google Wave sounded like the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it didn’t integrate with Gmail, or any other google product, which was it’s biggest downfall. Micro$oft – the fourth axis of evil – has nailed product integration time and time again. I’m not a big fan of M$FT; however, they are still the best software company on the planet – no doubt about it. Consider the complexity of what they are delivering every day and it’s clear that M$FT is the world leader.
Rant rant rant…. Back in 2010 a friend sent me this CLASSIC youtube post, which characterizes my exact thoughts on google. The best part about the video is that the reference to them making a Facebook equivalent was actually a reference to Google Buzz (another dead Goggle idea) and not G+. Enjoy the clip – it’s hilarious!
